PROJECT PERNA - 3RD ECO-DIVE - 2ND AUGUST 2008
With over fishing and pollution plus environmental factors like climate change taking their toll on the sea, ONE 15 is well aware of the need to respect and protect the marina waters and beyond. As a friend to the sea, ONE 15 has embarked on its own eco-initiative – Project Perna – which involves installing strings of Green mussels or Perna Viridis under the marina pontoon. These mussels functions as filter feeders and provide an additional source of food for fishes within the marina. The first eco-dive for Project Perna kicked off on 12 January 2008 and the second installation of mussel strings was held on 19 April 2008, in celebration of Global Earth Day.
In our relentless effort to maintain the quality of water at the marina, Project Perna calls for members and volunteers to adopt and assist in the third installation of mussel strings under our pontoon.
